Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to do our Beautiful Day projects on the same weekend as everyone else in November?

No.  Our desire is that every church develop it’s own culture of “Compassion Unleashed.”  Beautiful Day projects are events to be done all year long as your congregation identifies ways to love on the community around you.  We do like to have as many churches as possible participate during the Beautiful Day national event in November, but it is not a requirement.

Do we need to get our Beautiful Day project approved?

No, we do not need to approve your projects.  If you have not participated in Beautiful Day before, you may wish to look at an idea list we have or talk to someone about successful projects in the past.  Projects should be geared to serving the community and solving a need without the added pressure of marketing the church for membership.  We want to be and integral part of the community our church resides in.  If you need ideas for projects, please contact us.

How should we choose a project?

You should always approach a project with two questions.  First, what does our community need?  Don’t guess….go ask them!  Many times, what we think they need is not really what they want.  Go ask the city officials, school officials or neighborhood groups how your church can help.  Second, can we pull it off well?  It is important that your church be completely sold out to the movement and vision of Beautiful Day.  You do not want to do a mediocre job for your community.  It is not a good witness for your church or for Christ.

How do we get our church involved?

First, make sure your church leadership is on board!  When your leadership is excited about Beautiful Day, then you can start presenting to your congregation.  It is important to be very organized and think about your projects ahead of time.  List out material needs, people and labor as well as financial needs.  Once you have this list, then you can give those jobs to your members.  Beautiful Day projects are not meant to be something extra for church leadership to do.  Not only does it support the community, but it also teaches your congregation how to live out their journey with Jesus as His hands and feet, loving on the community around them.  Beautiful Day projects cannot be successful if the church is not involved at a wide level.

Are there Beautiful Day marketing materials available?

Yes.  We have videos, logos, banners and other print material available on this website.  If you don’t see something you need, please contact us and we may can help you.  Please remember that the Beautiful Day logo is a trademark and should not be changed in any way, but we encourage you to use it for the promotion of Beautiful Day events.
